About Kari Heggie

Kari is a multi-certified flute repair specialist servicing the north shore of Massachusetts and beyond. Kari holds a dual-bachelor's degree from UMass Lowell in Flute Performance and Music Business. She took that education to become the sales and marketing intern at Nagahara flutes but ended up falling in love with the world of flute making.

In 2015, Kari began her flute making career in earnest as a finisher at Powell Flutes. While there, Kari made over 400 handmade Powells including her own 9k Custom. In 2020, Kari became a mom and in 2021 moved to the north shore to be near family. At that time she also made the career switch to a repair tech at Flutistry ultimately rising to the title of Senior Repair Manager. There, she worked to fine-tune her skills and received certifications in Straubinger Pads, Muramatsu Flutes, and Pettry Piccololgy.

Kari has been operating as North Shore Flute Repair since 2024. She lives with her bassoonist husband, two sons, and two cats.
